We never dare span the ocean with a single drop
And a single sprout can never estimate the entire crop
A galaxy cannot by changed by a single star
And a single step seldom takes you to places afar
A single lamp can never measure the Sun’s glow
And a single second rarely affects the time’s flow
A braid is never tied with a single strand
And battles never win upon a single command
A mountain cannot crumble from a single stone
And a beaver cannot build a dam alone
A single thread never weaves a gown
And a single mayor never builds a town
A single grain can never suffice a plate
And a single lesson can never fill the slate
A single turn can never decide the end
For there is no choice on earth that one fails to mend
All the things merely start at step one
It is the journey where the real progress is done
Then why, O’ Student, I must question thou
You believe a single exam decides your life somehow
